snow bird

Bizarre occurrence a couple of days ago. G and I were sitting on the couch and I looked up to see a flock of robins in the front tree. They of course took off as soon as I got up to inspect further, and so I doubted this extremely unlikely harbinger of spring. But I kept going to the window and seeing random flocks that I thought looked like robins, but couldn't be sure. THEN, THERE IN THE TREE...

I modified some settings of the picture to see it better, but certainly that is Mr. RedBreast himself. But why was he in Illinois when it was about 10 degrees and a foot of snow on the ground? FYI - bird count coming up.
