to tuft or not to tuft

I found a pair of fabulous wing chairs on craigslist. Found them in Detroit, but luckily I have nice parents that picked them up for me and drove them here. Now the difficult/fun part - deciding how to re-upholster them. I have fabric samples coming in daily. I have been looking online for ideas (and more fabric samples) more than I should. When I close my eyes I see pictures of chairs - really.


Then came Pinterest. Lacking the time to spend making some sort of design/inspiration board either physically or within some sort of computer file, this site came to the rescue.

I'm thinking blue velvet (J likes to rub his face on those samples), with a pattern on the back and sides. And I am really leaning toward some diamond tufting. If any of you have influence with my husband, please, lean on him for the tufting.
