leftovers

I had some friends over for lunch a week ago. That left us with some delicious leftovers.
A tasty cheddar beer soup, and yes, you do need the bacon on top.

See, it really is very good. It went very nicely with those homemade pretzels.
I needed an appetizer (without cheese) and remembered I still had garlic scapes in my freezer from last summer's CSA, as well as a recipe. White bean and garlic scape dipIt tasted better than I thought it would, fresh and light.

And dessert. Yum. Here I am eating it out of the pan (again), makes it easier to hide my bite from the kids.

On another note, we are still enjoying our summer (in winter) weather here.

  1. Gosh, that all looks so good. I just found a whole lot of kale that popped up in the garden from last fall's seeds. Any ideas what I can do with that?

if you like split pea soup:

or that one that isn't going to hurt anything to try:
