Meet the tomato hornworm.
Or what is left of him. He won't be eating any more of my tomatoes. Those white things all over his back, they are wasp cocoons. See, the mom wasp lays her eggs under our caterpillar friend's skin. When they hatch, they eat their way through, spin their cocoons on top, fly out a couple of days later and *hopefully* find more tomato hornworms to eradicate!
And it's a good thing I washed the lettuce, or I wouldn't have found this guy.
